You have any favorites? Could be one ya wrote or one written by anyone else. Feel free to share. My favorite poem is one that I wrote about my move to the city from the country. But I only remember half of it so I wont recite it. I will list my second favorite poem that I also wrote.

The Ghetto
Liveing the the middle of the Ghetto. In places that make your legs feel like jello. If you walk though the streets at night, you are only looking for a fight. I'm going to ask you a little question to teach you a little lesson. What would you do with a gun to your head? Exacaly what they want or you will be pumped full of lead. are you going to survive or is your life going to take a dive. If you can pick your fate, Don't walk though ghettos gate.

Heres another short one.

Wrote this to a girl in durango colorodo on my trip around the us. No name. Was just to put a smile on the Very down waitress that waited on us for almost 2 hours while we waited for friends to arive after we got split up. (Cops Need I say more)

Can't stay long. Just passing though. THought I would take the time to flatter you. Chances are I am waisting time so I am not going to think of a pick up line. Just a tanks for the smile on the face of mine. I dont care if your taken Its just a thanks that I am makeing. SO when your down and and your face carries a frown. Read this poem to make you smile instead of frown.

I actually am a published poet.. heh.. here's one of mine from awhile ago..

frustration and aggrivation

spin around and around

delving deep into my mind

twisting and turning

swerving through my soul

i try to hold on, stay strong

minute by minute

second by second

my determination diminishes

my strength slips away

like darkness consuming light

i feel reality fading

just moments away from sinking

into a black hole

i’m not so sure I can climb out of

tears run down dry cheeks

crimson consumes paleness

fighting, trying, crying

gripping, slipping, falling

going, going… gone

I write Haiku. Here is one I just whipped together. I think its awesome. If you guys want to make it the official Karma Haiku, thats fine by me.

My manhood engorged
I impale the skulls of foes
Divine is Vengeance

In all seriousness, that poem was pretty good Nyssa.

Poetry is an art that not to many know,
But art none the less that is displayed for show.
I quick flick of the wrist and a scribble of your pen,
Might just bring you back to do it again and again.

Some poetry is relaxing and eases the mind,
While other poetry is evil, demented and one of a kind.
My enjoyment from poetry is to make someone smile,
If need be, I can pull about fifty out of my file.

I used to write poems when I was but a teen,
They spoke of love and kindness and nothing mean.
But then I grew up and got married to my wife,
Ever since that day, it has changed my life.

My poems don't flow the way the used to before,
Sometimes it feels like someone slammed the door.
There is a metal block when I want to write now a days,
As I try to put words together there is nothing but a haze.

This little poem is but a taste of what I can do,
If you are feeling down and want a poem you know what to do.
Just send me a tell and I'll give it a whirl,
Matters not if it is for a boy or a girl.

If I can write a little poem to make your spirits sore,
You may come back asking, "Can I please have some more?"
I will continue writing poems until the day I die,
Who knows when the next will pop up so keep a watching eye.

Here is another that I wrote about us Correctional Officers:

"Correctional Officers Never Rest"

Correctional Officers are a world above the rest,
For everyday a Correctional Officer is put to the test.
They go to work to be locked behind a door of iron bars,
But they aren't the ones out there stealing the cars.

It really takes someone within the right frame of mind,
And as the world shows that can be "one of a kind"
Their bravery shines above all when they have to walk down that tier,
Their courage of heart and they way they push away any thought of fear.

Day in and day out they go about doing their job,
Always praying to God not to get jumped by an inmate mob.
They go about their work with precision and care,
Checking on the security of the institution for public safety everywhere.

When an emergency arises within an institution’s walls,
It is the pride and respect of the Correctional Officer that answers the calls.
They are always aware of their surroundings and never look for a fight,
For like anyone else, they want to go home safely at the end of the night.

Now that your eyes have been opened up to the truth behind the scene,
Don't forget that not all Correctional Officers happen to be mean.
That just happens to be a Movie Theater act to catch everyone's eye,
But only those who have walked in those shoes can tell you that it's all a lie.

I have been in those shoes and I happen to still be there,
I am but one Correctional Officer that will protect you so please have no fear.
Correctional Officers all train and work hard to be the best,
And that is why; Correctional Officers will never find any rest.

(Most of my poems I have on a web-site, while others I keep to myself. My brother came across my poems one day and busted on me, but both he and his girlfriend told me I should continue writing.)

You said you wanted sappy, whell here you go. This was a poem that I won Editor's Choice Award off of... It was written for a girl I was dating in Delaware (old high school friends that turned into something over the summer I was back in town) while I was living in New York. Call me a sap, but it came from the heart. It sounds a little better if you sing it instead of just reading it.

True Love

I cry at night, I weep in bed,
Girl I wish you were here instead.
I know you live so far away,
I dream of you girl every night and day.

My heart aches when your not around,
Your voice is such a soothing sound.
The next time we meet will be the best,
For I can finally put my mind to rest.

Because its about time for you to see,
Just how much you mean to me.
There is one question I would like to ask,
It should be such a simple task.

Do you believe in true love,
Or guardian angels sent from heaven above.
Just place your hand on my chest and feel my heart,
Now you know we can't be torn apart.

for my hubby

To the Virgins, Make Much of Time

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying,
And this same flower that smiles today,
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
and while ye may, go marry;
For having lost just once your prime,
You may for ever tarry.

The Sorrow of Love

The quarrel of the sparrow in the eaves,
The full round moon and the star-laden sky,
And the loud song of the ever-singing leaves,
Had hid away earth's old and weary cry.
And then you came with those red mournful lips,
And with you came the whole of the world's tears,
And all the sorrows of her labouring ships,
And all the burden of her myriad years.
And now the sparrows warring in the eaves,
The curd-pale moon, the white stars in the sky,
And the loud chaunting of the unquiet leaves,
Are shaken with earth's old and weary cry.

sitting starring out the glass
thinking of my misdirection
wondering if the pain will ever pass
thinking of my own discretion

i take my pills and i pretend
that the blade doesnt only have one end
even tho i pretend and i know
one side of me that i wont show

talk to the shrink
say things i dont think
put a smile on my face
just so i can leave this place

go back to my room
where the darkness will consume
all my blood and tears
as it has for many years

one last time i stare out the glass
knowing my pain will never pass
put the gun up to my head
you will only truly know me when i am dead

Help me, please.
I had it
I'm crying while you're laughing
The unkindest cuts are those unseen
You hate me and I know it
You pick me up to slam me down
My pain you seem to need
You're laughing, screaming, in my head
Jeering as I bleed
You call me emo, freak, goth
You shriek that I'm a whore
You slap me, hit me, break my heart
Throw me out the door
What will you do, now that I'm gone?
Where will you get your fix now?
I'm not here for you to despise
My love for you is dead
You sent me away, threw me out
One too many times
Kick me out too often
And next time I might not come back
My pain is in your thoughts
Your ranting's in my head
I can't stay here much longer
Much sooner I'd be dead

Rejected

Are you telling lies
I can't read your schemeing eyes
I'm not the only one who tries
to hide my truths with cold hard lies

This is how it seems to me
though i know it can't be true
Most likely i'm the only one
to wish our ove were true

And as you live and thrive
like a queen bee in her hive
You took my heart and more
I fell right to the floor

You used me till i tore
I can't take this anymore
I was then just castaway
I had passed my final day

Is that all this meant to you?
just some fling to pass the time
so our love was worth so little
was it even worth this rhyme?

Could it all be in my head
did you even love me at all
is that my greatest reason
for letting myself fall

But i see it was all in my head
it wasn't real at all
If you loved me as i did you
I might not have made this call

For it is your fault
that i shal do this now
had you loved me, even just a bit
i wouldn't take my final bow.
