Monk or Ranger

Background: Played on evry MMorpg DD's classes l2 HE,SPS
WoW: undead rogue
RFO : Cora mage
And now rolling with EE, and in eq 2 with you guys :p

alright i did some reading on some multiple eq2 forums. About monks and rangers.

It comes to this Ranger's are the pwn on later lvls cuse they get sick dps and alot burst damege.

While a monk's sucks monkey balls on there later lvls.

So can you guys light me up, does monks get better then Rangers in pvp. And how's the damege on later lvl for a monk. Or is a monk actually good in pvp cuse they get stun and some nice stances buffs. And how are the monk buffs on laters lvls. Are the monk buffs needed for in the party(example: for in pvp)? If there buffs are needed then ill stay a monk for sure.
So stay a monk or a ranger....

If you guys say monks sucks in pvp and not have the buffs what parties needs for pvp.
Ill reroll to a ranger cuse i played too much mages :S.

Atm i got lvl 15 monk Hopee
So guys should i reroll ornot or is it worth to lvl my monk.
I dont want to find out when i hit 50ish that they suck so its better to tell it now.

I wouldn't listen to what people say on the forums.

A.) no one really knows what the end game pvp is like because no one is there yet.
B.) some people "might" of beta tested and got buffed, but they did not participate in pvp in the manner the live servers will be played out.

Another point is:
Everyone said guardians are going to suck in PvP. Due to having some seriously shitting DPS...Ask the guards in the guild so far, and I bet they say guards rock.

I think a monk is gonna play out just fine. Speically with their ancient abilitys they get later on.

Oh and access updated.

Just to drive the nail in the coffin.

Rangers suffer from a Fatal flaw.

If you get in a rangers face, they can't use their bow's. Their dps comes from their bow's, so you effectivly shut a ranger down, once you close the gap.

So monks do get better on the later stage. but what makes a monk good. Tanking, dps, buffs? its a wierd class :o

Monks can produce some pretty high DPS themselfs. They also get an avodiance buff they can place on someone else (like the main tank) which is uber shit too.

They get certain shit like..
Group Fiegn Death,
Tusami (for like 15 seconds you reposte every melee attack 100%)
A massive magic ward (something like 2-3k ward against all magic types)
Self Heal once every 2 minutes I think.
Respectable DPS

During our raids on the green server, scarz would constantly pull aggro from our MT if we didn't hold back his DPS. So that says something in its self. (and our tank was pretty fucking good)

I don't doubt that a monk will do well, but to defend us Rangers some, after the new update, SOE is giving the Rangers back a little bit. One of our current abilities is a DoT, they are changing that to a Root/Stun so we can back up and get more damage in from our bows. Another thing I knowticed while PvP'ing, a ranger doesn't need the distance many of you believe we do for our bow. If I take about three steps away from my target, I have them in bow range.
Please don't let me discourage you from taking a monk, I personally would love to see a young monk rise up in the guild so I can hunt beside and I feel we would work hand and foot together. See you on the battle field.

you say that but when i was lvl 50 on the green server i dueled a 60 ranger and i kicked his but so easily so dont go bad mouthing monks they are great and scarz can back me up on that 1 =P
